We will explore the engineering process of ask, imagine, plan, create, experiment, and improve as we work on projects involving solar panels, motors, more hydraulics, ziplines, the 2nd annual HLA turkey race. All these projects and many more we will work on, help us learn more about this amazing creation our Creator designed for us to see more of His reflection.

STOP MOTION ANIMATION

Hello fellow creators! Movies and shows are a huge part of our world today, but have you ever thought about how they were made? Have you ever wondered how the creators came up with these multitudes of stories and brought them to life? In this enrichment, we’ll discover how, what, and why we can create these fascinating films while making our own short films using stop-motion. We can do so much with the creativity that God has given us, and this is the place to let it run wild! Are you ready to get creative?

What is stop-motion animation?
Stop-motion animation is a form of animation that uses many pictures, or frames, played rapidly after one another to portray an object or character moving. In this enrichment, we’ll learn how stop motion works, explore the different forms of stop motion, and create our own short films.

Why should I learn about stop-motion?
My goal for this enrichment as a whole is to use our creativity and imagination in a fun and simulative way, to recognize that our creativity comes from God, and to use this gift to give glory to Him through creating our own mini stop-motion movies.

ANYONE can be creative, so don’t feel like you shouldn’t join because you think you’re not very imaginative. I hope to expand everyone’s creative capabilities through the art of stop-motion.

CHOIR

Students in this enrichment will learn some basics of singing together: rhythm, pitch, following musical notes, and simple harmonies. Music will be from a variety of places and eras, but we will focus on music that worships Jesus. This class is for everyone who wants to sing! This is not a competitive activity, or one where students will be pressured to perform. However, students do need to want to be there, including wanting to focus on what we're singing that day.

BAND

This beginning band class is for students who have never played an instrument before or who have, but are still at the beginner level and want to improve their skill level.

THEATER

Your children will be part of a musical production as part of this enrichment. Students will have the opportunity to audition for speaking and singing roles, or be in the larger group only if that is what they prefer. They will also learn several dance routines and become characters they may have never acted out before!

BASKETBALL

An introduction to individual and team basic basketball skills (ball handling/dribbling, passing, shooting, defense) outside on the half-court hoop near the playground. We will spend time doing drills and instructional mini-games. Inclement weather would bring us inside to a large room where we might do some bball skill drills (as space/noise allows) or play other team-oriented games.
